SyFy “Robot Combat League” TV Series Heather Williams
While filming any television shows it’s very hard to keep quiet about all the juicy details. Filming reality TV to me is even harder, but keeping quiet is the name of the game until now. I can finally say that I will be on the new TV Series “Robot Combat League”. The show “Robot Combat League” will air on NBC’s SyFy Channel. Premiere date is Tuesday, February 26 at 10 PM EST/PST.
I am the “ROBO-JOCKEY” and I will be accompanied to operate the enormous robotic machine by my handsome teammate “ROBO-TECH” Brandon Lewis. His company Nerd Alert does all the I.T. work for my site. Here are our BIO’s for the show –
Name: Heather Williams
Occupation: Race Car Driver, Realtor, Contractor
Hometown: Atlanta, GA
Residence: Atlanta, GA
Google +: Google+HeatherWilliams
Heather is fearless. She’s a race car driver and was the first female to participate in the X-Games FMX event. Having broken over 21 bones in her body, Heather wouldn’t know how to heed an obstacle if it threatened to crush the 22nd. And if that wasn’t hardcore enough, she sings and plays guitar in her own rock band. In her extra time, she has a giving project called RocknSoldier.com through which she puts together care packages to send to deployed soldiers.
Brandon is a self-taught I.T. guru who began taking apart computers and playing with electronic components at the age of 10. Brandon started his first business at the age of 20 in Austin, TX, producing videos for organizations and events. He then worked for Dell Computer for nearly 4 years selling computers to the US Air Force. Brandon launched Nerd Alert! I.T. Specialists when he was 30. The company provides I.T. services to small businesses and home consumers. Brandon’s other business ventures include Sports Champion, a startup fantasy sports game, and Lewis Designs, which manufactures high-end and stylish laptop bags. Brandon has worked with the series Extreme Makeover Home Edition on several projects, including integrating technology for the visually and hearing impaired in homes, designing a high-tech interactive runway for aspiring models, and designing a live karaoke stage for a family with five special needs children. And in his spare time, Brandon tinkered with basic electronics to build his own home security system.
THUNDER SKULL: My 8 foot tall robots name – Thunder Skull. Thunder Skull’s tight-fitting body armor has been stitch-welded together to offer great overall protection and power. This robot has a clear resin dome that covers a tiny “skull,” which can be seen moving around with a life of its own. However, even with a protective dome, the head is vulnerable to opposing robot attacks. In addition, the hulking upper body of the robot makes Thunder Skull more top heavy, which could create issues with center of gravity and balance during close-quarters combat.
Details about the SyFy Robot Combat League TV Series –
Get ready for a reinvention of gladiatorial combat for the 21st century! Each week, Robot Combat League will feature tournament-style battles between eight-feet tall, state-of-the-art humanoid robots controlled by human “robo-jockeys”. Hosting the series is Chris Jericho, the wildly popular WWE wrestler and multifaceted performer.
The idea of robots in battle has captured the imagination for generations. Now, through ground-breaking engineering, the fusion of a human’s fighting spirit with a powerful robotic machine built for destruction has become a reality. This extraordinary new series will feature twelve teams consisting of a fighter (a “robo-jockey”) and a robotics engineer (a “robo-tech”) from myriad backgrounds including a race car driver, an Olympic athlete, a National Guard helicopter pilot along with a mix of professional fighters and software engineers. Each team is paired with its own unique robot and will fight in a first-of-its kind competition using a high-tech exo-suit that translates their movements to their robot. Each fight consists of three rounds of intense action, with the winning team advancing in the competition.
The robots of the Robot Combat League were designed and created by robotics expert Mark Setrakian, a leader in the sport of robotic combat. In his distinguished career, Setrakian has developed life-saving robotic systems, and pioneered cutting-edge creature effects, animatronics and control technology for such films as Men In Black, The Grinch and Hellboy.
Robot Combat League premieres on Syfy Tuesday, February 26 at 10 PM EST/PST.
