Airborne Andy Van Halen, COMBAT ROCKSTAR!
I made a quick little video since I haven’t in a while. I LOVE helping the troops and I enjoy using the proceeds that are being donated to me for my ROCK project http://www.heather-williams.com/rock.htm and giving it back. The world is not always about #1
We can all take a small fraction of our time to give something back that can easily make somebodies day.
These care packages are going to SGT Andrew Barnes. He’s on my Top Friends list on my Myspace page and you can find him at http://www.myspace.com/5150andy. Here’s a video of Andy in Afghanistan. The truck was blown up while he was in it!
Just a little about Sergeant Andrew Barnes. He was deployed from Oct. 2006 to Nov. 2007 to FOB Iskan Iraq, which lies on the banks of the Euphrates River. He is currently deployed to FOB Sharana Afghanistan from Mar. 2009 to Feb. 2010. He has been in the Army since June 2004. Usually it takes 4 years to make Sergeant but he attained that rank at 2 years and 2 months. A Paratrooper with the 1st Battalion 501st Infantry Airborne as a Sniper, Truck Commander and anything else they need! He will be out of the military on Mar 2011 and wants to “shred for a living”. Watch him shred in Afghanistan>
Andy said “I am deathly afraid of heights, yet I jump out of planes for a living and pay to do so as a hobby. So if that’s not 5150 I don’t know what is, haha. I have 18 combat jumps and 36 free fall. 5150 is my lifestyle and Van Halen is the soundtrack. “Those who dance are considered insane by those who cannot hear the music”.” Check out his videos, amazing and entertaining guitar player!
Thank you SGT Barnes and to your Battery and Battalion! We are praying for you and our other heroes and sheroes protecting us in a foreign land.
